“Student Safety & Personal Experience”
To ensure students get the most from their in class learning experience, classes in our dance program are based on “Levels”. This system is designed to accomplish three important goals:
1) Student Safety: to reduce the risk of injury, level requirements and/or recommendation guidelines are based upon an expectation of knowledge, understanding and proficiency in properly executing certain techniques a dancer should have at the associated level,
2) Student Experience: to help students determine which classes best suit their individual ability, skill level, and personal achievement goals, while ensuring the best “in class learning experience” possible (level appropriate material and pace),
3) Class Pace: to ensure we get through the class material by ensuring all class participants are capable of keeping pace with, and performing movements and techniques at, or above, the proficiency level expected for the class
Our method of instruction is specifically designed to ensure close attention to detail and personalized guidance for each and every student. Our dance schedule provides instruction at ALL LEVELS. Be sure you are learning proper techniques from the beginning and avoid the frustrations of having to unlearn/relearn later to breakthrough and get to the NEXT LEVEL in your personal dance evolution! Our classes include both of the core components of dancing; footwork and partnerwork in each session. Classes also include a variety of ”special focus” areas to enhance your, and your partner’s dance experience, improve foundational technique and allow the dancer to push the creative expression envelope. You’ll find influences from multiple dance styles incorporated throughout the classes, giving the dancer the ability to expand on a solid foundation and put their own unique signature on the dance.

Important for First Timers
- Please dress in dance appropriate attire. Consider clothing that allows the teacher to observe correct body positioning. Sweatpants and t-shirts are acceptable. Most of all BE COMFORTABLE.
- Personal hygiene is very important, our classes are very aerobic so bring an extra T-shirt, deodarants and towels are a plus.
- If it’s your first time in class, it’s best not to stand in the front of the room. If you stand behind someone that is already familiar with the class it will be easier for you to follow along.
- When finding a place to stand in the room make sure you have plenty of room to move freely, allowing ample space between you and other students. Position yourself so that you can see yourself in the mirror, while being aware not to block those behind you.
- Do not be late for class. The beginning of class is important for warming your body & mind up.
- Please pay attention when the instructor is talking.
- Please do not chew gum or bring food into studios
